No Need For A Car

With limited parking on campus and the many alternatives to driving alone, it is not necessary for students to bring a car to Cal Poly. Here’s why:

SLO Transit – City bus transportation is subsidized by the University through parking revenue and is FREE to Cal Poly riders.

RTA – local regional bus service is offered to Cal Poly riders at a reduced price.

Just think of the money you’ll save – no car payment, no car insurance, and no parking permit fee to pay!

Cal Poly has over 19,000 students and 2,700 staff members. With 6,000 parking spaces, you can begin to see the picture. For at least the first year on campus think about leaving the car at home. Local transit is safe and reliable and best of all it’s FREE!
