The University Police Department promotes safety initiatives for all community members through a variety of awareness programs. We are dedicated to the belief that it is more beneficial to prevent crimes than to react to them after the fact.
We also work with residential neighborhoods in San Luis Obispo in order to educate citizens about safety and to prevent crime. In partnership with the San Luis Obispo Police Department, we work diligently to make the community, as a whole, a safer place to live.
A primary vehicle for accomplishing this, is the comprehensive crime
prevention programs offered by the University Police Department.
We offer seminars and demonstrations on self-defense, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, home and campus safety, vehicle security, protection from theft and high-tech crime schemes and other many other programs. We can offer you a customized safety presentation based upon your needs.
We encourage anyone to take advantage of this service. One person, a small group, a class or organization are all invited to do so.
