All food facilities should be constructed
and operated so as to protect the health and safety of all students, employees,
and campus visitors. This is accomplished by compliance with applicable provisions
of the California Health and Safety Code, ongoing education, and inspection
of all organizations and groups selling, offering for sale, or giving away
food or beverages. Environmental Health & Safety(EH&S)
conducts inspections of the food facilities on campus to ensure their compliance
with health code requirements, and investigates complaints of food-related
illnesses. Permits necessary to hold food sales on campus by student organizations
are also issued by EH&S. To make an appointment to submit a permit application
or to report a complaint about campus food safety, contact Everette Brooks
at 756-7009 (fax 756-5836) or email ebrooks@calpoly.edu
