Additional Blue Shield HMO Provider Group
Employees enrolled in the Blue Shield HMO plan now have a second physicians' group from which to choose doctors. The Coastal Communities Physician Network ("CCPN") has recently been added to the Blue Shield provider network, and its list of doctors continues to grow. The SLO Select IPA continues to offer services to Blue Shield HMO enrollees. Doctors lists and instructions for downloading current lists can be found on the Benefits Forms and Guidelines page.
Upcoming Workshops
- New Faculty Orientations: The Benefits Team will be reviewing the Benefit Programs Overview slide show and answering questions for all new faculty members. Insurance plan options and enrollment procedures will be discussed. The orientations will be held in the University Union, Room 220.

CalPERS Retirement Planning: CalPERS will present three workshops specifically for Cal Poly employees.

You may register for the Retirement Planning workshops after July 1, 2008. Advance registration is now required through the CalPERS website. Instructions follow:
Create a login account at https://mycalpers.ca.gov
Select "My Education" and click on "Select a Class"
Scroll down and select "Planning Your Retirement (CalPoly, SLO)"
Review the date and time information under each one, and select the enroll button on the page of the class desired. Follow the instructions to complete your enrollment, by providing the required information.
Pharmacy Provider Change for Blue Shield HMO
Effective January 1, 2008, Prime Therapeutics (PrimeMail) will replace Express Scripts as the contracted mail service pharmacy. Existing mail service prescriptions with remaining refills will be automatically transferred from Express Scripts to PrimeMail. Refills can be requested from PrimeMail beginning January 1.
