Employee Furlough

The California State University has introduced furloughs during FY2009/10 to help address the significant reduction in state General Fund support for the CSU. A furlough is a mandated period of time off without pay. Furloughs differ from salary reductions and pay cuts in that they are temporary and do not affect employment status, health benefit eligibility or pay rate for retirement benefits.

The Cal Poly 2009/10 Furlough Implementation Plan for applicable employee groups can be accessed below. Frequently asked questions and answers will be posted on this site weekly. For represented employees, also refer to the appropriate Memorandum of Understanding.
