Payroll Services Furlough Information

Payroll Services is responsible for the tracking of furlough days observed in addition to existing attendance reporting requirements. We will also be affecting and monitoring the associated pay reductions as appropriate on employee paychecks. Human Resources is responsible for the interpretation of furlough program guidelines for Cal Poly. Payroll has updated the existing pay and leave usage forms to include two new time reporting codes due to the furlough program implementation. This form is used to report all pay requests and leave usage, in addition to the furlough reporting requirement. If you have already saved a 2009 Non-Exempt or Exempt Pay and Leave Usage form on your computer and are required to report furlough day observed, please download the updated pay and leave usage form to submit time from August through December 2009. Please do not use the prior version of the pay and leave usage form to submit your August through December time. You can find the updated versions below or on our forms page.

Reporting requirements: Furlough reporting requirements differ by bargaining unit and even classification within bargaining unit. Please see our reporting requirments page for the most up to date list of those who are required to submit furlough day observed (FDO) on their pay and leave usage form.

If a furlough day observed is reported inappropriately or incorrectly, forms may be returned or retroactive adjustments will be made. If you need to make changes on FDO reported to Payroll, please notify your Payroll Technician as soon as possible. You will need to submit a revised pay and leave usage form with the appropriate signatures.
