New Student Employee Information

All new Student Assistant employees must bring a completed Student Employments Request Form (SERF) to the Payroll Services office and complete a new hire intake before they can begin working. Portions of the SERF are required to be completed in Excel by the hiring department prior to being printed. All the department required fields should be completed before the SERF is provided to the student. It is required that the SERF be completed in full, required fields are noted on the form. Incomplete SERF's will not be accepted.

In addition to a completed SERF, new Student Assistant employees should bring documents to complete an I-9 and their Social Security Card to Payroll Services no later than the first day of employment for pay. The I-9 form verifies your abilitiy to legally work in the United States and is required by Federal Law. Acceptable forms of identification are listed in the "Form I-9 Lists of Acceptable Documents" posted below. Above and beyond satisfying the I-9, all state employees, including Student Assistants, are required to provide a valid social security card before they can receive pay.
