Institutional
Loan Exit Interview Process
IMPORTANT:
this exit interview requirement is only for those students who were
disbursed one or more of the following loan types while attending Cal Poly:
Collins Loan
Nissen Loan
Humphrey Loan
Van Asperen Loan
Long Term Lutz Loan
CFFA Loan
Camp Loan
Dugan Loan
Noyce Scholarship
Noyce Stipend
If you are not sure whether you borrowed one of these loan types, please email Cal Poly's billing service (ECSI) at CService@ECSI.net. Your email to ECSI should include the following:
- Student name (first and last) as it appears on the Cal Poly portal
- The last 4 digits of your SS# (student loans are tracked by SS#, not EMPL ID#)
- Your email question: Am I in the ECSI system as the borrower of a non-federal institutional loan? If so, please provide me with the name of the loan type(s).
If your name and SS# are NOT in the ECSI system, you did not borrow a non-federal institutional loan from Cal Poly. If your name and SS# ARE in the ECSI system, please complete the exit interview requirement for each of the institutional loan types you borrowed (you could have borrowed more than one).
Please
follow the on line exit interview instructions below. You have not completed the exit requirement until each bulleted item is complete.
- Email
your Exit Interview Counselor to request your institutional
loan Disclosure Statement(s). Your
request must include your student ID# and your current mailing
address/phone number. Because the Disclosure
Statement is specific to each borrower's loan account it must
be requested individually. You will receive your requested Disclosure
Statement(s) via email attachment, or by mail. Note:
because the Disclosure Statement outlines when, where, and how
to make your payments you should keep a copy of the Disclosure
Statement for your files. Note: the Disclosure Statement is also referred to as a Truth In Lending statement.
- Download
and complete your Exit
Interview Packet. Note: read and follow all
provided instructions. Incomplete packets will not be accepted.
- Complete,
review and submit the following forms together:
-
Disclosure Statement (also called Truth In Lending statement)
- Statement
of Rights & Responsibilities
- Student
Loan Worksheet
- Please
return these completed documents to the address referenced
on the packet's Instruction Page (Student
Accounts Office).
- INCOMPLETE
FORMS: if one or more of the exit interview
forms is not completed as instructed the entire packet will
be rejected and returned to the student (to the permanent
address via U.S. mail). The records hold will be removed
only upon successful completion of the exit interview process,
or when the loan in question has been paid in full.
REMINDER:
This may not be your only student loan debt type with an exit interview requirement. To avoid a records hold we strongly recommend you download and review the Educational Debt Worksheet. The Worksheet will help you determine all your debt types and lender information.
