Key Shop

The Facilities Operations Key Shop is responsible for the issuance and management of the campus master key system. The Key Shop is located in Building 58, Room 103 under the key shop awning.

Access to campus facilities is essential to the smooth operation of the university. However, the need for access must be balanced by an equally critical concern for the security and integrity of the facilities and their contents; therefore, all keys must be checked out in person with an authorized key card and a photo identification card.

Blank key request cards are available from your department. Cards must be filled out stating who the key is requested for, the individual's campus email, department and key series requested or the location to be accessed. All key request cards must be signed by the appropriate dean, department head or his/her designee. Authorizing signatures must be on file at the Key Shop.

Individual and submaster key requests for areas not exclusively controlled by one college or department must also be approved by the other dean or department head involved.

Lost keys must be reported to Facilities Operations Key Shop, University Police and the issuing department.

Upon separation or transfer, employees must return all university keys and complete the Personnel Separation and Transfer Form 300.
