How to Make Police Reports

Call 911 for emergency assistance.

To report a crime, call the Cal Poly Police Department Dispatch Center at 805-756-2281. It is recommended to program this number into your cell phone.

The reporting of crimes is essential in enabling the police department to assess criminal activity and to develop strategies and solutions to provide for a safe and secure campus.

There are no solutions to unreported crimes!

All persons who are victims or witnesses of a crime should promptly report the occurrence to the Cal Poly Police Department.

Privileges of confidentiality in criminal matters that are referred for prosecution in a court of law may be subject to exposure. University Police officers work closely with prosecutors and investigators with the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office in these matters and the welfare of the victim or witness is of primary concern.
