Environmental Health & Safety

Specialists ensure a safe and healthy environment for all Cal Poly students, staff, and faculty. These experts work closely with academic departments to ensure that Cal Poly’s “Learn by Doing” philosophy is also “Learn by Doing Safely!”.

Facilities Operations

is dedicated to providing an attractive, safe, and operational campus environment. Careers in Operations include Custodians, Groundsworkers, Carpenters, Electricians, Locksmiths, Plumbers, Painters, mechanical trades such as Building Services Engineers (HVAC) and Refrigeration Mechanics, and more.

The Planning and Capital Project

team provides the management for programming, planning, architecture, engineering and construction of new or remodeled capital projects in support of the university's academic mission. The project management team “captains the ship” to keep work moving in the right direction. Energy, Utilities, and Sustainability

(EUS) is dedicated to responsible management of the natural resources needed to assure the continued efficient operations of the Cal Poly campus. Cal Poly is an award-winning leader in sustainability because we manage those resources using sustainability as a driving force in campus planning and operations. EUS team members work with students, faculty, and staff across campus on a wide range of sustainability initiatives from zero waste to “green” building practices.

Customer and Business Services

acts as the ‘face’ of FMD with our business partners across campus with rewarding and engaging careers in customer service, finance, and human resources. Members of this team often say “Every day is something new and we’re never bored!”.
